By definition there is no sugar in pure alcohol. The amount of sugar in an alcoholic drink depends on the drink: hard alcohol contains no sugar, but may be combined with sugary mixers, beer and wine both contain residual sugars. Sweet wines and beers contain more sugar than dry ones.

The amount of sugar varies by beverage. Wine has 0. 62 grams for red and. 22 grams per 100ml. Beer as well as the hard 80proof+ liquors have none.

This varies tremendously with the form of alcohol. Rum, for example, is basically made out of sugar. Many forms of schnapps are also high in sugar. Some other forms of alcohol, such as grain alcohol or red wine, are actually pretty low in sugar.
