How much is a coin from 1864 worth?

I found one at my grandparents house, and I would love to sell it to a collector.

It depends on the condition of the coin and the size of the words "in God we trust" if they are large it would be for around twenty dollars if they are small than the coin could be worth more, around about two hundred dollars. I would find a coin dealer and talk to them about it.

The price of a coin depends on several things. Condition and rarity are the two main factors. Just because a coin is old doesn't necessarily mean it is valuable. The best thing to do is take the coin to an appraiser or look it up on-line. This will give you guidelines on the value.

It depends on what type of coin it was. Indian head cent is $1-10. Two cent piece is $10-20. Half dime is $10-50. A dime would be $5-250. A quarter is $15-90. Half-dollar is $20-200. Dollar is $150-500.

Coin values depend on a lot of factors, including the condition of the coin. The most reliable method to evaluate its worth is to take it to more than one appraiser. The appraiser is often the buyer, so ask three or four for an honest answer.
