The official weight lifting bar that is used in the Olympics weighs forty-five pounds, without any additional weights added to it. I have found that many of the weight lifting bars that individuals have in their homes range anywhere from twenty to forty-five pounds alone.

An average bench press bar weights 45 lbs, without the additional weights that go on each side of it. (That's why a lot of people will joke, "I bet can't even lift the bar! ") If you add cushioning for your hands, though, it may add a little bit of weight, but not much.

A weight lifting bar weighs 45 pounds usually, if it is a bench press or squat bar. Curling bars weigh 15-25 pounds. The bars are usually marked in some area showing the weight. If they aren't marked, scales are usually present in weight lifting rooms, so just weigh the thing.
