As of 2009, Stephen King has written seventy-five books. The first being the classic high school horror novel Carrie in 1974. His most recent work, Under the Dome, was released in November 2009. Of these, twenty-three are either directly a part of, or related to, the epic Dark Tower series. He has also written 113 short stories.

King has written nearly 100 books and short story collections , as well as one work of non-fiction on the craft of writing. He has also collaborated with other writers. This includes his work under the pen name Richard Bachman. There are several websites that list all of King's efforts to date.

Stephen King's wiritng career began in 1974 with the publication of 'Carrie'. Since then, he has published 77 books, some of which are collections of short stories. The vast majority of these books are in the horror genre. Many of King's books have been adapted for the big screen, with a large degree of success.

Stephen King has written all of the books that you can find that have been published both in and out of print -- and a roomful more. Some will eventually see publication and be available for people to read, some will be part of his papers, and if he is like most writers, some will remain unpublished, perhaps be destroyed.

King has written over 40 novels, as well as several series, graphic novels, novellas, and the unique Green Mile, which was released as 6 small volumes.
