I think the normal waiting time after going on a dte for a man to call is three. If it's been longer than that something might have happened like an emergency or he's not interested!
In this day and age, you should feel free to call him if he doesn't call you. Old etiquette rules have fallen by the way side and if there is something that you want just go get it when you want it!
