Denosyl is recommended to improve hepatic glutathione levels to help maintain and protect liver function. 45% of dogs and cats with liver problems have a low hepatic glutathione level. Denosyl has been shown to increase hepatic glutathione levels in cats and dogs. Glutathione is a potent antioxidant that protects hepatic cells.

All dogs should be given denosyl on an empty stomach approximately one hour before feeding time. Expect this medication to take full effect within four hours of administration regardless of the age of the dog.
