That depends on where it is being stored. At room temperature, just for a couple of hours. In a refrigerator up to a week. In the freezer, indefinitely. ONce you take the air out of the packaging, the chance for freezer burn is low and you should be able to keep meat without affecting quality for a year or more.

I have personally used vacuum sealed meat after seven months and found it to be very tasty, fresh and no freezer burn.

From my experience the meat could last you quite a bit longer than conventionally sealed meat. If you keep it in a frozen state and the seal doesn't break you could keep the meat safe for months without the worry of frostbite or expiration.

Official recommendations regarding food safety are often very over-cautious. I have used vacuum-sealed beef brisket after leaving it unrefrigerated for 2 whole days, and it was perfectly good, without even a hint of bad odor. Vacuum sealed food lasts a very long time even when raw. Trust your instincts though.
