How long does it take to get a green card after marrying in the U.S.?

Depends, the amount of applications that local office is processing, a straight forward application( no dui, arrest, divorce etc) providing the necessary documentation. It can be anywhere from three months to years for some.

You can file for adjustment of status for your illegal alien spouse any time after you marry. After this, you can receive your green card in as little as three months. However, if your spouse entered the United States without inspection, he or she will have to leave the country and it can take several years.

You get a conditional green card about 6 months after filing all the necessary paperwork. Conditionality is removed 2 years later, as long as you are still honestly married and living with your US-citizen spouse and meet all the other requirements.
