Medical studies have shown that the odds of having triplets naturally without any aid from medical science such as through fertility drugs or artificial insemination is 1 in 8100. This means that for every 8100 births, one will result in the forming of triplets naturally. This might occur through splitting of eggs or three individual eggs being inseminated naturally.

This is very rare. Chances increase if there is a family history and the more pregnancies a person has. I do know two people who have natural triplets.
