This works by creating a steam to fill the area of a room where someone who has congestion is located. The vaporizer includes a Vicks pad that you place inside and when you add water it releases the scented vapor. There are different Vicks vaporizers available. Some do not use water to create the steam.

Vicks makes a product that resembles a small pad. This fits in the chamber on top of the vaporizer.You can purchase these in the medical isle at local stores.The steam heats the pad and the vapors are released into the air which in turn is inhaled through the air to open your nasal passages.
