Generally, a person will hide some place where the relevant authorities will be unable to find him. Alternatively, one can hide where the authorities don't know he/she is a fugitive.

Well, they just DO!!! It's been my experience that they don't run for long. You can't use your credit cards, cash a check, get an apartment, job, with computers, you are just NABBED. Your fingerprints will show up. You can't visit your family, friends. You can't decide to be "good" again. Suck it up and do the time.

Someone is said to be running from the law if a criminal complaint has been lodged against that person and he fails to appear before the concerned law enforcing agency or agencies.
