A taser works by electrocuting a person when they make a circuit between the two contacts with their body. Once a circuit is made the taser sends a high amplitude jolt that is immediately followed by a lower strength current. The first surge stun the victim while the smaller current keeps the person from moving.

A taser contains a powerful battery and has the ability to deliver its stored charge quickly. When the taser is fired, needles with wires connected to the taser strike the victim. The taser then discharges a powerful electrical jolt into the victim in what is a controlled electrical discharge. This is painful but not fatal, subduing those struck.

A jolt of electricity is sent through wires that are thrust toward the target. The electricity makes contact with a person making muscles contract, then immobilizes them.
