Yard sale signs need to be written with dark permanent markers. The actual sign needs to be a bright color to attract passing drivers and pedestrians, for example the color yellow is a good color to use. The things to write on the sign are the address and an arrow pointing towards the location.

You should pick a bright color sign with a dark color ink that you can easily see. Just write YARD SALE and then you can put an arrow in which direction or write the address so people know where to go. Making it bright will attract customers.
