Do you have a broadband (DSL / Cable) router ? Most broadband routers have several ethernet ports you can use as a hub between your home computers. Just plug an ethernet cable to your home computers (including you Windows XP box) and set the network configuration to automatic :-)

Well you just connect all of your computers to the same wireless network and they can all be a part of the same network.
