You have to remove the side of your pc, and then just plug it into the correct slot inside of it. You will see you old memory card when you open it. Usually there is more then one slot, so you can keep the old card, and the new one.

By purchasing memory from your local computer store. Memory sticks come in different formats and sizes from 256mb all the way to 4gb each. Install them onto your motherboard.

Open the computer to gain access to the inside. On a desktop this requires removing one of the sides, on a laptop this requires removing the door on the back. Ensure the computer is turned off (battery removed), then place the memory into the slot and lock in place.

On a desktop computer, you must remove the side panel and look inside to find one or two long, thin sticks. Unlock the sticks by pushing the sides, and replace with your new memory. On a laptop, open up the back cover and replace the memory.
