There are two options to treat ingrown hairs, the first is a trip to the doctor who will prescribe a cream and possibly antibiotics to decrease inflammation and infection. Second is placing a warm cloth over the area and then gently removing the hair with a pair of tweezers.

Rub the area with a cotton ball dipped in witch hazel, that will help with the inflammation. Next exfoliate with body scrub, then take a pair of tweezers and lightly scrap at the hair with the tweezers, if the hair starts to come out lightly pull on it to get the follicle back in place,do not pull the hair out.

The most effective method is to apply warm compresses to the ingrown hairs, which will relieve the swelling and allow them to fall back naturally. These compresses should be done frequently to act on the swelling and be effective. The process may take a few days, but it is much less invasive than other methods.

Treat very carefully. You need to apply very warm compresses to the area several times a day. It's probably painful but if it has pus, squeeze gently. Then you need a pair of tweezers to gently pull the hair clear out. Afterward, apply antibiotic cream.

Twice a day scrub the ingrown hair gently. Ingrown hairs are like pimples,to avoid pus formation apply benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid Apply a warm, moist compress to the area to soften the skin. Use a sterile needle to remoove the hair Wash the area with warm water and use antiseptic cream Avoid wearing tight clothing on that area.

To treat an ingrown hair, a person can use tweezers to pluck the ingrown portion out: however, do NOT pluck the hair itself out! It will regrow deeper.
