Halitosis in children is most often caused by post nasal drip or a diet in sugar. Dental hygiene is the easiest and most common way to cure it. This should include brushing not only the teeth but the tongue also. Flossing is also important.

First make sure they are brushing and flossing their teeth well and regularly. Do not use mouth wash as the mouth wash has small amounts of alcohol in it and may irritate their throught. If this does not work you will want to contact your child's dentist and seek their opinion.

Make sure that he or she is brushing their teeth on a regular basis. If that doesn't work try a little mouthwash if the child is old enough to know not to swallow it. If you are still having a problem a trip to the pediatrician or dentist would be in order to check for any other problems.

You can buy special tooth paste, make sure your child has good brushing habits. Get floss, and mouthwash, and take her/him to see a dentist. Good brushing habits, tooth paste, floss and lots of mints you'll be able to take care of it.
