Years ago it was popular to eat cherries for the gout. Most gout medications work along the lines of prevention before it can start. One thing you don't want to do is take aspirin. You need to see your doctor for treatment advice.

Gout is a condition caused by too much uric acid in the body. If your gout is debilitating you need to seek the advice of a doctor who can prescribe medication to prevent flare ups. At home you can take over the counter medications such as ibuprofen to help with the pain. Drink plenty of water and use ice packs.
