It's best to get a wire cage for exercise. Tunnels or an exercise wheel is good. Wood shavings such as aspen are good bedding and change weekly. Pellet or seed food is best, but you can give small pieces of fruit.

Do a lot of research. Check out a couple of books from the library to learn everything you can, before you buy them. Buy two females to prevent unwanted litters.

Cage them separately. Use recycled paper bedding, change weekly. Feed them non-pellet rodent diet, 2 tablespoons each daily. Cheerios are a good treat. Fill their water bottles every day.

Hamsters are pretty easy to care for all they usually require is attention, love and food and water as well as a clean cage.

Hamsters are really easy to care for because they take care of themselves. You should clean the cage once a week and just make sure it has food and water.

You will need a cage, and be sure to change their shavings often. Also, give them something to play with.
