Blue Damsel fish will develop their own territory in a tank so you want to have live rock in your aquarium. It will help make them comfortable and it will provide them with hiding places. You can get away with keeping multiple Blue Damselfish in the same tank if you introduce them at the same time.

This fish will readily eat all kinds of live, flake foods. Providing a rock coral decor that has many nooks and crannies for hiding , will help avert aggression.

Damsel fishes are very territorial. I hope that this isn't the first fish in your marine tank. If you are just setting up your tank, see if your friend will hold off on giving you the fish until you can get some less territorial fish in hte tank first.
