Keep bananas at room temperature. Bananas should not be stored in the refrigerator. If your bananas are green, and you wish to ripen them, place them in a paper bag overnight. By the following morning, you should have yellow bananas. If your bananas get too ripe and turn brown, freeze them for later use in baking or smoothies.

Bananas should be stored at room temperature. They should not be kept in a plastic bag. If you refrigerate them, it makes the skin turn brown.

Leave bananas out instead of in the refrigerator when storing them. I prefer to leave them on a banana hanger.

To allow bananas to ripen evenly and to avoid one side browning faster, bananas should be stored at room temperature by hanging from a banana hook or sling.
