A common reason for computers to slow down is the hard drive filling up. Scan the computer for virus's, then select "properties" from the hard drive's right-click menu, and use the disk cleanup, error-checking and defragment tools. The hard drives usually need 10-15% of free space to work properly, so you might need to remove some files and/or programs.

Well the best thing to do is remove any unnecessary files and programs. Defragment thew hardrive and then disable any services you don't use.

This always happens with time in Windows OS systems. You can get some clean up program like TuneUp Utilities or CCleaner, or you can simply reinstall your Windows, but don't forget to first back up any important data. Alternatively, you can simply try uninstalling some of your less necessary programs to ease the clogging.

To increase the speed of your computer, first check to make sure your hard drive isn't anywhere near being full. Then defragment your hard drive to free up additional space.
