Yes, it will be the same procedure as with a cellphone. As long as the receiving phone number is a cellphone, it should receive the SMS just as any other (local) cellphone. Make sure you have the correct country-code in front of the indian phone-number. ( 00 91 ) Hope this helps,

Sending an SMS to India is easy as long as they have a good cell phone provider. If they have a US based provider then just text the person and they get it.

To send a text message to India you use the same country code + number that you use to make a phone call. You may want to call your carrier to find out the rate for international text messages, as it is usually a lot higher than domestic rates.
