You need to consult a reputable gemsman, not just a jeweler, that specializes in this. Your value depends on cut, clarity, carat, etc. You may have very normal gems, or you may not. Selling on your own, you may very well get shortchanged. It may be worth a trip to the specialists on 47th Street in New York.

Take the raw gems to a jeweler to be appraised. Get several opinions and offers before you sell. If you need quick money, you could try a pawn shop instead.

There are several ways to sell raw gems. You can go to a pawn or jeweler who will often buy loose gems. Also may collectors will buy them.

Most jewelry stores are willing to buy raw gems such as diamonds from customers. I would contact a local jewelry store and ask them if they buy raw gems. Other sources could be a pawn shop or speciality gem show where they will buy raw gems.
