If you do not have access to a password recovery application CD (Which loads when the computer is turned on but loads before windows, is generally Linux-based, and cracks the password), then you will need to run setup from the Windows CD and re-setup windows with your new desired password.

There are software crackers available on the internet to try and crack passwords. There is no way to reset. If another ID has admin full admin privileges, you may be able to use it to reset. If the password can not be cracked, the system must be rebuilt.

A forgotten password for any version of Windows can be reset by booting up from a Linux live-CD (no install required.) Ubuntu Linux is the easiest 'flavor' for those without Linux experience. Once booted into ubuntu, open Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type "sudo apt-get install chntpw". Google "chntpw linuxbasement" for detailed instructions.
