This varies depending on the type of year of vehicle that you have. They are usually located in the throttle body. I would refer to a haynes manual to confirm.

As with any repair that requires skill, if you consider yourself a novice I would suggest either first consulting your car manual, or talking to your local car mechanic. For a job like this make sure you have the tools you need: Sockets, Allen Wrenches, and matching parts of same-brand.

I would suggest you buy this praticular vehicles repair manual and locate the sensor and replace. sometimes sensors of a diagnostic system just need to be cleaned or a electrical connection has corroded. A manual can also help you in the future.

If you're referring to the sensor that is part of the anti lock braking system and the traction control, you need to replace the entire hub assembly. Good luck with it.

96 Eldorado and am getting error codes: P0717 (Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal)which are causing the check engine light as well as the 'Service Transmission soon' message to appear. serious needs work, but don't want neglect of this item to be the cause of something worse.

Purchase the vehicle manual for repairs. So it can tell you where the sensor is located. Your sensor just may need a clean to the diagnostic system due to corrosion buildup on electrical connections.
