This is a fairly strait forward process. Locate the BMW Wind shield wipers locate the rubber keeping the wiper firmly in place, most of the time these guards can be removed by hand but sometimes you'll need a screw driver. Remove the guard and take off the wiper then replace. Viola!

The motor is located under the cowel in front of the windshield. It usually comes as a wiper assembly which includes the motor. It is an easy fix.

Check realoem.com for the diagram to locate your part number and location. Try the bimmerforums or pelican parts tech forums for model specific instructions. If it is a 1990s or later model, consider buying new cabin air filters, as you will likely have access to these while you are repairing the wiper motors.

The windshield wiper motor is going to be right under the firewall of the vehicle when you lift the hood up. Its somewhat difficult to reach.

First disconnect your battery. Remove the windshield wiper and nut. Remove the blade that connect to the wiper motor. Remove the bolt that hold the wiper motor. Unplug the wires that connect to the motor and replace it with the new motor. In Reverse order follow the same steps for the installation process.

You are going to want to open the hood and get behind the firewall. You can take the bolts holding the motor on off and it will come right out.
