Start locating the converter. You will need to cut the pipe before and after it.You should measure the new one to know if it needs to be trimmed on either side. After cutting the pipe out test the fit of the new converter. Make adjustment as needed then weld it all up.

Locate the catalytic converter. Unbolt or cut off the catalytic converter. If unbolted, bolt up the new catalytic converter. If cut off, weld the new catalytic converter. Check the exhaust system for leaks.

you must remove the old one usually using a cut off wheel to cut the pipe and then you must weld the new catalytic converter onto the muffler. You must make sure that it doesn't leak any fumes

You replace a catalytic converter the same way you replace a muffler. First you cut off the old one leaving as much pipe behind as possible. Then you install the new one by sliding it over the pipe ends. Once it is in the proper position weld everything together to prevent leaks.
