How do you repair VW camshafts?

i think in this case repairing is not a good option with respect to cost on repairing and time consumed on it. I recommend you to buy a new one instead of repairing

Camshafts are not typically something you can repair. Usually it is cheaper or easier to just buy a new set. Look online or consult a dealer to locate a new set of camshafts. If they don't sell ones like you had, some camshaft manufacturers may make a copy of them for you.

simply put unless you plan on changing the valves and every other piece of the top end you can repair a cam shaft. they are replaced for that simple reason. to repair wouldnt be cost or time effiecent

Camshafts are actually long metal sticks with humps or "lobes" machine onto them. They are one solid pieces that cannot be rebuilt or repaired. If a camshaft gets worn or damaged it should be replaced with a similar one and new bearings/lifters installed in the engine.
