How do you remove the black-looking disease on my crepe myrtle trees and bushes?

Most of the problems these trees have are pest related. The sooty mold can be controlled by getting rid of the aphids. A hearty spray on a regular basis is recommended. If needed, there are pesticides and insecticides that will take care of them.

Mix Malathion with Dawn dish liquid or liquid Dial soap. About a 5 to 1 ratio, malathion being 5, and spray every 7 to ten days
