This is odd because are you referring to the Washer, Dryer, or Dishwasher. Assuming you are talking about the dishwasher, the plastic top of the arms should be removable, and then some small screws will be found underneath.
I have a Performa Maytag dryer and the hot air stopped working. When we pulled it out to troubleshoot, we found a lot of lint and a bird (dead). Didn't seem like he'd been there long, but after thouroughly cleaning it out and replacing the duct for hygenic purposes, we still can't get it to work...
If it is the same as my Maytag, the "clover leaf" looking tab will unscrew the arm completely. It is a bit difficult to grasp but it will screw out conterclockwise.
