How do you remove someone as the executor of a will?

You must file with the court, demonstrating why the current executor is violating the terms of the position. You cannot recommend yourself as the replacement as it would appear you have ulterior motives. The court will determine a successor, if need be, and it could be you.

An executor can only be removed by a judge if there is proof of violation of trust; for example, taking the better property for themselves or stealing.
