How do you remove a stock stereo in a car?

First look for screws or connector that hold the trim around the stereo in place. Some stock stereos are held in place by screws in the front, others by screws underneath or behind. Remove the appropriate trim to get to such screws. There will be a wires/connectors to also remove.

If it was installed with a cage, the removal keys will work. slide them inbetween the radio and the cage on the sides and the radio will slide right out.
