How do you remove a hornet nest?

There is one in my garage.

I personally go to my local ACO store, buy one (and get one free usually) of their cheap hornet killing spray. I soak the nest in the spray, wait a couple hours, soak it again, and then take it down the next day.

Very carefully! When it starts to get dark, that is when the hornets return to the nest, soak the nest with hornet spray and get out as fast as possible. The next morning, you should find dead hornets. It is now safe to remove the nest; be careful of stragglers.

This is something that you cannot do yourself. You need to call an expert in this area. They spray the nest and come back days later to see if there is any activity, if none they take it down. If there is activity they respray.

Spray it with some bug remover. Some people take risks by beating the nest with a baseball bat and then running. This usually does the trick but you risk being stung by hundreds of bees. Spraying water on it with a hose is a safer alternative. You last resort would be to call an exterminator.
