Replacing or refueling the fluids in your engine is usually quite simple. Most of the compartments are labeled with what is in them. Find the one with powersteering fluid.

Make sure the Jetta is parked on level ground. Locate the power steering fluid reservoir. It will be marked on the top of the cap. Remove the cap and check the fluid level on the stem. It will have two markings--one for cold and one for hot. Use the appropriate marking depending on engine temperature. Add fluid if needed.

Your Owner's Manual should show you a diagram that has a picture of what your power steering pump reservoir looks like. Failing that, look under the hood for a cap that has a picture of a steering wheel/says "Power Steering". There should be a dipstick to show the level.

Just buy the correct type of fluid and find the fluid reservoir under the hood. It should be labeled clearly just make sure to remove any dirt for the lid before removing to keep it from falling into the reservoir. Then fill to the appropriate level.

open your car front ballet and you will find the reservoir. remove the cap of the reservoir and you will find a stick guage as part of cap and then look at the guaging where you will find a valve and then pour your fluid and then replace the cap.

First look in your manual to find the location of the power-steering fluid reservoir. Wipe the lid clean before opening. Then remove it and add fluid to the appropriate level.

Under the hood you will need to locate where the power steering pump is. Traditionally, the power steering pump will be in line with the belts that spin when you start the engine. Also the power steering pump housing that holds the fluid is usually black. Make sure that you only use the approved fluid and do not overfill.
