The phone should come ready to use, except for having contacts in it. Your number should already be in it. You will, however, have to insert all of the contacts manually, unless you have something that enables you to do my contacts backup with the same phone number you had before.

You can usually check the manual that came with the phone, it will have all the information you need. If you lost it, check online.
