Glaucoma is a hereditary disease that unfortunately is unpreventable. However, early detection and intervention make this a treatable disease. If you have a family history of glaucoma, it is recommended that you see an optometrist for a yearly eye exam.

Glaucoma ia primarily genetic, but you can help prevent it by seeing an optometrist annually... I've also heard that smoking marijuana can help stave off glaucoma.
