How do you position a background image as a header in a Word document?

Double click on the header position of the document and the header portion will be opened. Copy the desired image and paste it directly on the header area.

Yes, enter the header for editing and copy and paste the Picture there. It will appear as header on each page with a header. If you want the background for the full page, you can set it up as regular background image.

Select a wrapping style of 'Behind text' and click Advanced 4. In Advanced Layout, set an Absolute position for your graphic Simple way -> choose View > Header and Footer

In MS Word 2003, Go to: View > Header and Footer. There will be two boxes at the top and bottom of the page with dotted lines. Place the cursor at the top box and choose menu Insert > Picture > From File. Browse for the desired image and click OK.

Word 2007, Go to the "Insert" ribbon ---> Header ---> Edit Header (at the bottom of the drop down) this will open the document header. Then Choose Picture. Select your picture and choose insert. This will insert a picture into the header area of the page. Click the picture to open the format picture ribbon.

Go to the MS Word menu and select View, Head and footline. Klick on the Headline frame. Now you can insert the background picture (Insert, Graphic). You can find the standard background pictures in the web directory of the windows dir ("Wallpaper").

The standard background images for xp you can find in C:/Windows/Web/Wallpaper. Knowing this go to word and choose View | Header... and then go to insert | graphic.
