You need to measure the distance apart and width that you want the stripes to be. You need to then cover that area with special paint tape.

To paint striped walls, you need to first decide how big the stripes should be. Then you use painters tape to divide off the stripes. Use a ruler or measuring tape to do so. Then paint every other taped off section. Easy.

When painting stripes onto walls, perfect measurement is the most important aspect of this job. It is important that the stripes are even. To do this, use a painters tape to make even lines and then paint as you normally would.

Measure the width of your wall. Divide that measurement by the width you want your stripes to be. Then measure your wall in stripes that wide. Put paint taping down the wall outside every other stripe to keep your paint even. Paint every other stripe. Then put tape on stripes you have painted and paint the remaining stripes.
