There should be instructions in the manuel telling you how to do so. The top casing should just slide off. You can unlatch it and pull it off.

Depends on which dell case you are using. You obviously must remove all visible screws first, then it may either lift off or slide off.

Depending on the model you might need to use a Phillips head screwdriver to open the case of your computer. Most Dell models are tool-less and all you need to do is locate a button and then remove the side of your case. Sometimes it is not a button but a plastic lever.

First disconnect the power cord from the mains socket and touch the metal body of the system to discharge any static electric charge which may damage the motherboard. Then spot the four screws on each corner and unscrew them. Then you can find the way to open the protective cover like push etc. Do as instructed.

Most Dell computers have slides or tabs on the back of the case, allowing for easy access to the system internals. Unlike other cases, which usually have easy to see screws in place or thumb-locks, look for something that can be pushed or will slide with your fingers, that will unlock the case side-wall and allow it to slide out.
