Aside from hair spray you can try gel or mousse. Depending on what style you are goin for you can use really small bobby pins to hold it in place.

I suggest you to use foam, it works really good and if you want to make your hair even more "stable" use hair-wax. You should buy the wax from a hair-styling saloon because they can offer you the best foam/wax in the market.
