How do you learn to use roller blades?

I have new roller blades and can not skate on them.

The best way to learn to roller blade is to first start out on a flat surface. A good example of a place to learn would be a parking lot or flat street. Also it is important to use protective gear. To rollerblade you push off one foot and then glide on the other.

Practise. I'd recommend going in a park (not on the street to start), that isn't busy, and make sure you have knee and elbow pads on (along with a helmet).

Roller-blading, roller-skating, and ice skating are all similar skills. If you don't know how to do any of these, I recommend taking up roller-skating first, since its easier then roller-blading.

Pad up,find a friend that knows how, find an open lot-after hours at the local mall works well. Push with one leg and roll, push with the other and roll, repeat.

Much like riding a bike, there is really nothing more to it than continuing to practice, and as they say, practice makes perfect. Start slowly, only a few feet at a time, and use your arms to keep your balance. Have someone new practice with you.

You just have to strap them up and go out and practice skating with them. Avoid hills and bumpy surfaces to start, just get used to skating on nice surface.
