Well if you have a misfire or running issues then more than likely it is the coil. Just make sure that you check every other component in the ignition before replacing it. You can pull a plug and see if the coil generates a nice big spark. If not it is probably bad.

This can usually be diagnosed by "reading" your plugs. A bad coil will produce a weak spark or sometimes not fire. This make some plugs look wet or rich.

A bad coil will prevent the car from running in most cases. If it's "going bad" you'll have misfires and poor running- exhaust will reek of gas.

Try disconnecting a couple of spark plugs so the engine wont fire, then hold one spark plug cable with the spark plug attatched to it with the electrode on a metal surface. Have some one turn the engine over while you hold it. If you see spark the coil should be good, if not it needs to be replaced

get a spark tester from an autoparts store and check each of the six wires for spark, and make sure if its fused for ignition you check that first

Well the easiest way to tell is to check the plugs. If some are dirtier than other then they may be misfiring. You should see black greasy carbon.

You will need to have to take it in to have it checked by a professional person. They would know how to fix the car. Or get a manual on it.
