How do you install light switches?

First you have to remove the old light switches. After that is done, there should be a black and a red wire sticking out. These are the electrical wires. The switch you are installing will have markings or direction telling you which wire you should connect to which end. The switch itself completes the circuit.

By connecting two wires into terminals at the rear of the switch enabling a circuit to be completed and provide power to a light fitting.
