Most every motherboard you will see has some identifying characteristics. First open the computer's chassis, you may need a screwdriver. Shine a bright light on the system's motherboard and search for an etching. Most manufacturers paint or etch a model number and make somewhere on the motherboard.

Well typically you will have to actually open the case up and look for some identification information. Typically the manufacturer and model number will be printed on the board.

Either by starting the computer and looking in My Computer or by physically opening it and reading the information written right on it, near the processor.

Most motherboards have some way to identify themselves. Open up the chassis and look for yourself, there should be a label or some print on the board somewhere.
