How do you housebreak a Shih Tzu?

My ShihTzu was definately the hardest of all my dogs to housebreak. They're not the smartest of breeds after all! The best advice is to be patient. Positive re-enforcement works best so ignore the mistakes, and give him plenty of chances to get it right- then praise when he does.

There are many ways to train you dog, puppy pads are now available for this. Also, there is the crate method,the dog is put in an area and taken out to do his duty, reward if succesful, then put pup back in confined area with crate.Train him to go to crate when he needs to go out.takes about 2 weeks.
