How do you hook up a television to a computer?

If the TV supports VGA, then just connect it like any other screen. You can also use Svideo if the computer supports it. Many newer computers and televisions support HDMI as well. Just connect the cable and enable the screen in the display properties of the computer.

If you tv only has cable inputs you will need special hardware to convert the computer's video output. If they have compatible ports, simple buy the cable to connect them.
