How do you hang a valance?

Get a double curtain rod at a store. In the curtain/interior window area. You can get the standard/basic white which is fine if the valance covers all of the rod or a fancy one with pretty ends. One rod simply goes directly over the top as its smaller.

Two ways that a valance can be hung are to put another curtain rod up that goes on the outside of the rod that the curtains hang on. This allows the valance to cover the entire width of the window. The other way is to hang the valance in the middle of the curtains and center it in the window.

If you are using a curtain rod, you would attach the rod on the outer bracket and the drape or curtain on the inner bracket. You will have two rods. The valance would hang over the drape rod.

You have to have a curtain rod, and usually your valance has an area to slide it on, then you just kinds puff it up to look nice.
