Don't soak seeds before planting. Sow the seeds in a sunny location in garden. Sow directly into the ground about 1/8 inch deep and 1 inch apart. Water frequently but do not overwater. For indoor plants, place seeds in moist growing medium in a tray and in medium light. Mist the growing medium every day or two.

Arugula is really quite simple to grow from seed. Start with fresh seed and a good garden soil. Gently sow the seeds in the top quarter inch of the garden soil, covering with just a small layer of soil. Pour water on the seed in a shower, so as to keep the seed in place. Arugula likes cool weather.
