Kittens open their eyes between 9-14 days, will start exploring on their little wobbly legs. at 4 weeks they will start using the litter box if they can get into it, and they will be grooming themselves. Between 5-7 weeks they will start eating food, but will still nurse.

Kittens that still have their umbilical cords attached are 3 days or younger. Their eyes open between 7-10 days. When their ears stand up they are between 3-4 weeks. If they are just starting to eat solid food they are about 4 weeks, if they are eating solid food on their own they are between 6-8 weeks.

Looking at the kittens' size and weight as well as the condition and quality of its eyes and teeth might be helpful in determining its age as a non-professional.
